Women's Commission Mission Statement
Mission Statement
The Women’s Commission of Southwest Louisiana, Inc. was organized exclusively for charitable and educational purposes in 1990. We are very proud to be celebrating our milestone 30th Anniversary in 2020!
Scholarships
The Women's Commission of Southwest Louisiana, Inc. is pleased to award four $1000 scholarships for non-traditional students at McNeese State University and Sowela Technical Community College.
A Message from the President

As we enter into the Commission’s 34th year, I feel that we have truly embodied the organization started by a group of ladies looking to impact our community. Who would have thought a vision would, in turn, be one of the most attended events being held in Lake Charles?
Not only does the Women’s Commission of Southwest Louisiana, Inc. host an amazing conference each year, but members also volunteer their time and assistance for several local festivals and events.
We support non-traditional students in their endeavor to further their education and award two scholarships per year to both McNeese State University and Sowela Technical Community College.
We certainly appreciate the many businesses that we are honored to have as sponsors and welcome any business and/or individual to inquire about sponsorship opportunities.
I am both humbled and honored to serve as the 2024 President of the Women’s Commission of Southwest Louisiana, Inc., and encourage you to make plans to join us for the Women’s Fall Conference on October 17, 2024.
